I told the hiring manager that I have a work permit, but it'll be a few weeks before I get my SSN. He talked to accounting and they told me I can start working right away, but they'll have to pay me after I give them the SSN. I said that's fine.
Then I remembered my ITIN (stupid of me to forget), so I told them I have one, and they said that's all they needed so welcome aboard

I think I'll pay a visit to SSA tomorrow and just apply for SSN with the typo on my EAD. I hope this process doesn't get super complicated, especially when it was USCIS's mistake.
Congrats!! Hope the job goes well!

Look up job postings on websites like Indeed, Glassdoor, Monster, Linkedin, and Craigslist. Or you could find em through networking. I wasn't necessarily looking for a temp position, but it's somewhat easier to find them than regular hire.

Anyone got any insights on Wells Fargo? my dad knows a guy, he says I might be able to be placed in a position higher than a teller, whatever that is. I'm an assitant mgr at a fast food company. Believe it or not its good experience. Especially since you have to deal with so many people (employees, costumers).
I'm about to get my AA so I think that'll be a plus until I can actually earn a BS

Update.

So I went to my interview yesterday and wow it lasted so long. I was interviewed by 4 senior engineers and finally by the hiring manager. It started at 09 AM and at noon they took me to lunch then we got back around 1:30 PM, at this point the hiring manager interviewed me for about 1 hour lol. I think I did pretty well, except a few technical questions I couldn't answer completely. I know about 5 engineers that work there so that really helps, the hiring manager told me I was the very first candidate he interviewed me because so many people recommended me. We'll see what happens.

I was recomended today to apply for a job but I haven't received my approval yet so I'm kinda in a limbo here. It's a good offer because it's nearby and pay isn't soo bad. It's in one of the places where I volunteer.

Yeah I'm waiting for those long interviews too.
From glassdoor, some of the interviews for the companies I applied have to be done out of state for me, so if I'm considered at least you get a free vacation.

If you are for sure approved and know EAD is on its way do apply. Maybe by the time the interview process is over, you will already have the approval letter and ead. Plus like you said, you volunteer for them so you can just explain the situation. I'm sure they will let you go through the interview process. You gotta think, "what if the position gets filled before I apply?"

There was several instances where I let people start interviews and hiring process while they had EAD pending. Maybe its because I empathized with people going through Immigration stuff... But other managers in that company also did the same. If we really wanted to hire someone, we would wait for them..
