I went to apply for my social, I had no problems, in and out in about 30 min. The only weird thing was I didn't get any letter that said I applied. I asked and the guy told me to just wait 2 weeks. However, I didn't have a problem where they said I needed to be verified by DHS. He asked me if I ever worked in the US? I said yes. He asked if I used a social or an ITIN? I said ITIN, he said bring in your W-2 forms after you receive your social security and we will transfer your earnings.

yeah I got my SS card today but when I went to SS card office, they were really really nice ppl there.
All he asked me was "Are you a foreign student" (since there are lots of international student in my city) and I said "No, I actually have EAD" and showed it to him along with my passport and I was good to go. He didn't ask single thing about my status lol..

Tortoise do you think I can apply for my ssc with just the I-765 letter of approval or do I have to wait till I get my I-766??

Does the passport to bring need to be not expired?
