I'm just sharing the information I received when I called and spoke to a USCIS rep - I will believe them anytime over you. U said that wasn't possible, right? To file a service request... well it is! I have a receipt number for the service request I put in.
As for the DHS Ombudsman/congressman info I posted... google it. Get out from under the rock ur livin man. I'm not gonna wait with my arms crossed, if you want to, that is fine by me.

Get the app USCIS Case Status. It checks every two hours or so and notifies you when there's a change! It's given me peace of mind lol
