It was a pain, living without a social and ID. You have to count your blessings.
They actually won't stay with us for much longer than two years. The SSN will only work as long as your EAD is valid and ID/license is only valid for 2 years depending on where you live. We can't get comfortable, gotta keep working for the dream act.

Don't get us wrong OP that's something us DACA qualifying dreamers think about but I think we should use that energy to help get the DA/CIR to pass preferably by the end of this year. Like I said let's be glad we actually qualified for DACA because there's some that didn't and let's work with what we've been given sure a work permit might not be much but it's a lot more than what we used to have.

+1 I don't have my approval yet. So many of us have been waiting for quite a long time. Appreciate your card. God knows if your employer will be willing to put in papers for you.

Sure they won't reuse the same SSN for a second person. But you can't use it two years later because a simple background check will yield an expired SSN.

BOOM. BOOM BOOM.

Good thing SSN don't expire then, just your EAD. One of Uncle got a work permit with an SSN years ago. His EAD expire and he's using his SSN now

SSN are for life there is no expiration now whether your authorized to work that's a different thing

Boom boom boom

I think all DACA dreamers have to focus on 3 things these two years:
  • Trying to find a way to adjust your status as the system is now, if possible
  • Fighting for the Dream Act and/or immigration reform
  • Prepare for your DACA renewal and or DA/CIR. Do the best to keep a good moral standing, educate yourself, and keep out of trouble.
Think of the future people. Plan plan plan!
