Haha, I was thinking the same thing.

But anyway, back to your original post.

I understand where you're coming from; it seems as though the attitudes surrounding immigration reform have been largely negative regarding illegal immigrants. The opposition continues to see us as leeches to American society without acknowledging the contributions to society we have had.

At the same time, I can see why some of us are seeing the current iteration of CIR as our only hope for a more stable future. It's hard to imagine the momentum of this legislation being as impressive as it is were it to fail and then be revisited again (which would most likely take another decade).

I am not 100% happy with all the provisions of the bill, but that is the nature of a compromise. And we don't have much say in what goes on in American politics (at least, not as voters), but we can rally for changes.

We might want to ask ourselves why illegal immigration even happens to begin with; for some people, it is due to lack of political stability and social mobility in countries of origin. Some have argued that American intervention in foreign economies and governments has lead to instability in those countries, and in doing so it has driven people out of their "home" countries.

Others argue that it is a natural part of migration patterns; where there is more perceived opportunity, there will be more immigrants (legal and illegal).

I don't yet have an opinion on what its causes are, but it's just something to think about, I suppose.

Yea, thats what I get so fraustrated with. The tone, everything around undocumented immigrants is so negative. No head-nod, wink or anything acknowledging our contributions.

Everyone should watch yesterday Sean Hannity show with that blonde lady that looks like the other blonde lady that hates immigrants. If you subsititute 'illegal immigrants' for 'men', 'women', 'hispanics', 'blacks' any other group she would have been booed of the show and out the country. But since she was talking about illegal immigrants, its all good. What she says is acceptable.

One fight at a time tho. Lets pass this bill first.

What do you expect? The ones who talk and view immigrants that way are 90% of the hick Republican Party.. All you can do is make sure you support every democrat in the country so these hicks realize their party policy suck and they start changing their policies.

See illegal aliens don't have much rights here. There are no laws that pretend discrimination toward illegal aliens and having a status of not being authorized here and being a women or men are not the same thing.

Sorry, you can't have one giant rant about how you don't support the bill and how horrible it is and how it hurts your feelings and then want it to pass. If you feel that this is a bad bill then stand your ground. Go lobby against it. Go join Sean Hannity in being against it.

For me, would I want instant citizenship with roaring crowds cheering me on and thanking me for gracing this country with my presence? Sure! Throw in some money and loose women too and I'd be super happy. Since that won't happen, I love this bill.

It's not that we don't want it its just that they are treating us like a dirty hooker that you're done with don't pay the full amount and slap with the money. They are humiliating us which hurts but hey its to our benefit.

Can somebody post a link to this bill, so we can all read it? It's always a good idea to do this, btw....
