Yeah, her shit was that peoples feelings are immeasurable so therefore feelings outweigh the amount of money. Just bullshit answer that both parties were expecting and wanting.

You do forget we have a constitutional Republic.

Once the Senate becomes a 51 body, a Republican Or Democrat bare majority will be able to dramatically change the country and vice versa.

The framers made the Senate the way they did for a reason. Not liking how a Parliamentarian rules on your issues doesn't change the fact that that's her job.

The contempt for the Senate as an institution meant for bipartisan and compromise on here is astounding as well as alarming.

I want to be a citizen of this country because our system of government is special.

Today is a Democratic issue that "needs" only 51 votes, tomorrow it could be a right wing attempt to enforce immigration laws at all costs.

I told you so

tbh, this was expected... have no clue what the dems will do know, their back up plans aren't going to change her mind I don't think... and they won't replace her either even though they could.

Highly unlikely, unfortunately. Surprisingly there is no commentary on the parliamentarian’s emphasis on the “wide range of benefits BEYOND the social safety net programs…” (something that Democrats were relying heavily on to get this into reconciliation.

She is more interested in the fact that there is no fiscal equivalent value ( a price tag) that can be attributed to ALL the benefits of providing legal status. Legalization is for “freedom” (she actually mentions this in her ruling). Hence, it’s not just numbers and too big of a transformational change to be in reconciliation.

Sad, but not surprising.

The framers did not make the parliamentarian nor did they make the idea of reconciliation bills and filibusters. The framers made the house and Senate where bills are passed by simple majority. Everything else was made after them.

-Why was Pelosi asking republicans to pass the Dream act during reconciliation talks if she was confident?

-Why was Biden trying for “fortify” DACA?

-Why was Durbin saying he would continue to try and protect dreamers?

They all knew and lied to us for 3 months.

That’s not the point. Imagine you buy a expensive product. You saved up years to buy it. And that product doesn’t work the way it’s suppose to. The problem is not that we support bitch ass Republicans or at least I never will. But why the fuck would I buy a defective product again. Democrats are weak as fuck. I legit hate or don’t care about most of their issues but I come on this ride because of immigration.
