Historically, people cut back when the prices rise. It happened in 2008 and the gas prices went below $2. Greece just got bailed out for now.

I say unemployment will be below 7% on election day.

Don't forget the Eurozone crisis. It is not just Greece.
Housing market

There will be more drivers on the road.....if you didn't know, our numbers are increasing all over the world. Car manufacturers in the U.S are recovering because they are obviously selling more.

Gas prices will not affect Obama right now, but it might affect the economy if prices remain at 5 bucks or if they go higher. If the economy is affected by gas prices or the situation in Greece, you might see a decline in investments; thus, less jobs are created.

I hope the unemployment rate continues to go down at the current rate. If it does, we might see the DA pass within 2 years....maybe.

Three things to lookout for in 2013:

unemployment rate
potential war with Iran
Composition of congress

Cross your fingers....

Then Dems got slapped out of office in 2010 when no improvements were made on the economy and Obama care was passed. Now, if the economy improves neither side will be credited with the recovery because congress has been in a deadlock for the past 2 years. So what will happen? The composition of congress might not change much but both sides will be more willing to finally deal with the 12 million people living in the shadows.

Trust me, the DA will only pass if the unemployment rate is somewhere near 5%.

The last time we had a surplus, Clinton was president!!!!

He also had a surplus with Monica Lewinsky but that's a different story.
In an improved economy with an unemployment rate of 5%, some people might also say that legalization will take this country down the wrong path because legalizing so many people will increase the unemployment rate and screw up the economy again.

noooo....what makes you think that all of a sudden employers will stop hiring people because we're at 5% unemployment?

As the economy improves, the unemployment rate will continue to go down....

Anyway, the unemployment rate will not go back up because if you think about it...(I'll simplify it for you)

people without status are working now... right? Yet the unemployment rate continues to decline.

When undocumented workers are legalized, they will continue to occupy one job slot...right?

Unless they're aggressive and get two jobs, the unemployment rate will remain unaffected by legalized workers.
