The worry is not going from OC to SD. The risk is when you are going from SD to OC. But once you're approved for deferred action and have an EAD then you wont have any problem going in any direction....

Exclamation I-821D notice (got two notices) one last week and another today

For those who have been approved for about 1 to 2 weeks. Did you guys get two notices for the deferred action?

first notice i got was you're approved for TPS
the second notice i just got today...

The time I've passed coming from OC to SD I've only seen the checkpoint being in operation once. I've passed by it like 12 times

That's true. Cuz I plan to travel up to Orange County using Amtrak. I know every now and then they have BP on it asking questions. But I'll take my letter and EAD along.

Google them for a detail description but an Internal checkpoint usually are established about 100 miles from the border to according to them detect drugs and illegal aliens.

I didn't wait. I went ASAP and based on the info the guy has above. he went the same day he got his EAD to apply for a SSN and he got his 9 days after he applied

I called but they were going to transfer me to another department and told me they had "high calls" so I said i would call again some other time.

The checkpoint between SD to OC is in San Clemente. You encounter it going north not going south.

So coming from the OC to SD you're good cuz you dont stop for a checkpoint but coming from SD to...

I have the EAD card already. State ID has to wait till I get my SSN and be able to apply for a Drivers License.

I saw a video yesterday showing that someone on the Amtrak showed his EAD card to the BP agent and he didn't take it until the guy showed something else with it.
