Yup. Since I came to US, I've pretty much been silver spoon fed. But it doesn't make any of you better than me, besides you wouldn't last long in my Eastern European childhood. Anyways I didn't choose to come here, much less staying illigally. If I can dig up any way of improving my situation, regardless of its legality or ethical standing, as long as I don't harm anyone in the process, I will go for it. Just do you.

I am pretty sure we are not! Even if so, no offense but, speak for your self. No one is pretending to be anything.

I would not have a problem with this except that...

The problem is that you ARE hurting the movement in the process. After H.S drop outs start getting whatever they give out. People will notice it, and people will hate us even more. It is all about public opinion.

If you are not a hard worker and are not willing to better your self by education so that you can contribute back to society, I have not pitty for you if you are deported.

In fact, working hard and getting 4,0 gpa while working horrible jobs DOES make us BETTER than you.

The premise of DA is to go to school or join the militatry so that we can contribute to the economy, armed forces, etc...

Not so that you can get your G.C and sit your ass around or start havings kids like crazy, or go work at a fucking bank as a low life cashier.

Do not mean to offend anyone. I am saying what it is.

In fellow's defense, getting a college degree is not always for the best. Heck, sometimes the rational thing is to skip everything past grade school and go to a trade school or internship for a semi-skilled job. People don't point it out much, but the market pays well for plumbers due to a shortage in the field. Education in a college is not the only route to better one's self.

I understand the public perception that thinks otherwise, but the public isn't here. We shouldn't look down at others who choose different paths in live. They don't owe us any obligation to lead certain lives.

...?

That's what I'm talking about.

I really don't see how "working hard and getting a 4.0 gpa" really means much. When you go to college, you go to college to gain an advantage for your self. It's not some sort of heroic self-sacrifice that you're doing for the Greater Good. This guy? I don't know this guy, but it seems like his actions are equally self-centered and how can I fault him for that?

PS: Starbucks qualifies as working a horrible job in the grand scheme of things

I see your point.

Anyways, I think you see mine too.

Well I'm about to finish MS in CS before turning 23, speak quite a few languages and among other experiences. I'm pretty sure I'm much more valuable to this country and the whole "dreamer" cause than most of you. But I never really had to try or study in college, rarely bought textbooks, it just all seems easy to me. But had I been different I've would've probably ended up like that guy you guys are dissing, and in his place I would've probably played my cards the same way with this opportunity, so just ease up on him is all I am asking, everyone deserves a second chance, especially people who are on the same page as us.

Where must there be a fight when no true conflict is being faced? We're all here for the same cause, yet we argue and speak vulgarity towards one's own brothers and sisters.

The idiotic wars we see in the world happen between human beings, which is us. We're all the same and eqaul.

Deferred Action and the DREAM Act is a strive towards equality among the inhabitants of America, yet here we are trying to fight and flaunt one's work ethics and to prove that one has more eligibility than someone else.

I just do not get this madness.
