If you send your tax with a fake SSN, they will send you a letter saying that there is a mistake in you number. That's it. Just save this latter for your records just in case of immigration issues....

I have traveling from NYC to CT hundred of times by Amtrak and Greyhound. I never see any situation towards ICE or BP.

But in this video, doesn't show that they actually have an student id. The officers asking them for identification and it looks like that they didn't have any identification at all.
