I know of international students taking up masters degrees in engineering and then looking for job afterwards. Might be an option if you're willing/financially able to go back to school.

The biggest risk is not coming back to the USA. I don't know if the lawyer's letter will help, but you won't know till you try! I think I've heard of someone writing something while submitting...

You could always e-mail the Canadian consulate serving your birth country. It seems you do have some type of legal temporary status. I wouldn't really know if you can apply from the states.

um I think I've answered most of those on my thread. Living on campus is a bit expensive but like any college town there are nearby "cheaper" alternatives.

Just dress warm. I have -20C or lower winters and it doesn't bother me after 2 seasons and I still don't have a car so I have to walk or bus my ass around everywhere. Just the thought of no longer...

Do you mean "maintaining your overstay/illegal alien status"? You will have to check and contact your country's Canadian consulate but I'm pretty sure you'll have to be physically in the country that...

yeah it's all IELTS now...even for americans/brits/aussies that want to become PRs in Canada...score requirements are different depending on the application track

I was just looking at my scores...I got a 7.5 in reading and an 8 or higher on the other stuff...it's enough for what I need in canada but it is a little worrying since english is all I really...

ha yeah...it's alright...they paid for college and "living" expenses. Don't have to worry about coming home for xmas because I can't thanks to our friend the 10 year band.

I'm not an expert on Canadian Immigration...just sharing what I know but it's always best to check. If you don't have any work experience as an accountant then I don't think you can immigrate...plus...
